Our coaching staff is one of the most tenured and experienced in the Triangle. Past and present coaches consist of former high-school, collegiate and elite athletes.


All coaching is done on a volunteer basis as such there is no monetary compensation however, we do have minimum requirements for volunteers which are indicated below.


There is an application process and all documents must be completed to confirm affiliation with the organization. Any misrepresentation of affiliation is prohibited.


We are always in need of additional volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering your time please contact us and a representative will contact you with-in 48hrs.


Coaching Requirements

* USATF Level I Certification Class info

* Background Check Completed by USATF National Headquarters

* Safe Sport Training/Certification


Notice to Parents


It is important to know who is coaching your child(ren). As such this VERIFICATION link is being provided for you to confirm coaches which are affiliated with our organization are cleared by USATF to coach and train your athletes. USATF guidelines prohibit organizations from allowing individuals with-out background checks to coach/train athletes.  It's important to us that as a parent you know who is coaching your child(ren) and verify their affiliation.  


Our goal is to achieve a 1:8 coaching ratio

Demps, Keisha

Coach Keisha is in her fifth year of coaching with the Carolina Eagles.  She first began as a parent volunteer and quickly became a successful coach of mini-javelin.  Her first sport is volley ball were she excelled as a Middle Blocker for the University of Arizona, earning All PAC-10 honors, and then going on to play in the United States Professional League from 1999-2000.  As a middle blocker on the U.S. Dream Team she helped the team win the 2000 Millennium Cup.  


Keisha is a natural coach who connects very easily with our youngest athletes where patience and consistency are a winning combination.

Gardner-Geoffoy, Kandra

Coach Kandra has been with the team since it's inception first as an athlete and currently as a coach.  She excelled during HS in the sport of track and field and went on to attend college on a Track & Field Scholarship.  She received honors in the Cap 8 conference, held both school and conference records as well as being listed in the News & Observer NCHSAA athletes to watch.  While many argue 300MH was her best event she focused on 100MH her senior year. Unfortuneatly an injury plagued her senior year state championship performance where she still managed to still finish 3rd in the state running against medical advice with a swollen knee. 


She returned to coaching upon relocating back to NC post college.  She has been most consistent at coaching the 11-12 age division and speciality training in both the hurdles and horizontal jumps.  She is passionate about sharing her story with her athletes and encouraging them to explore both their academic and athletic potential simultaneously.  She also served as the Head Coach for Raleigh Charter HS track and field program leading the school to their first State Championship appearance and coaching her athletes to school records performances during her two years.

11 - 12 Age Division / Hurdles & Horizontal Jumps

Haddock, Eric

Coach Haddock is in his seventh year of coaching with the Carolina Eagles.  He first began as a parent volunteer and quickly a fan of the high school athletes which he was easily able to relate to with a back ground in the Public School System.  Eric has coached at Southeast Raleigh High School as both a football and Track & Field coach.  His first sport is football where he excelled as a wide receiver at Albany State University .  


Eric quickly gained an interest in both vertical and horizontal jumps where he became a student of the sport consistently looking for ways to assist his athletes in improving their overall performance.  He is level I certified with USATF and more recently have moved to focalized coaching on the high jump where he has produced state, regional, national and NCHSAA champions.  


He facilitates specialized trainings for his High Jump athletes while working very closely with Coach Carol and Ron shaping our 13yrs & older athletes.

Kiaku, Jerome

Coach Jerome was one of the original athlete members of our organization and over the years has remained connected to the team by offering his coaching expertise when needed.  He had a very successful HS and collegiate career where he hold records and top performances in the NCHSAA and at his alma matta Southern Illinios University in the Triple Jump.


Jerome was part of Southeast Raleigh HS's original coaching staff and assisted in developing their jump program which lead to both state and school records for his athletes.

Lewis, Carol

Coach Carol as the kids refer to her is a returning athlete turned coach who develops high intensity trianing programs for our middle and high school athletes which she too participates in.  Carol "Merritt" as most of her track and field accomplishments will refer to her as, is one of most decorated female athletes in the club history who always jokes about remaining committed to the team which developed her as a young athlete even while being heavily recruited by other teams locally to join them.


Carol attended college on a track and field scholarship where she continuted to stack up honors post HS to include but are limited to finishing fourth in the 200m at USA Championships and ran a provisional qualifying and school record-breaking time of 23.78 in the preliminaries ... Won the 400m at the Penn State Open


She continues to push the envelope as it relates to physical fitness and training by competing on the masters circuit post her pro career and provides a great example to young athetes with track and field aspirations post high school or college. 



13yrs & older / Sprints

Mitchell, Charles

Coach Mitchell has over ten years of coaching experience with the organization and bring discipline to the kids at a very early age incorprating his military style drill counts into warm ups and practice.  Coach Mitchell has two sons who ran with the club when they were children.



10yrs & Under / Throws

Quillet, Erica

Coach Erica's arrival to the team came in the form of a parent volunteer however her background as a personal training was an immediate attribute to the team.  She has been coaching for over four years and works with our 10yrs and under athletes introducing them to importance of proper physical fitness, stretching and cardio workouts.

10yrs & Under

Quillet, Ron

Coach Ron  works very closely with Coach Eric and Carol developing our athletes who will be college bound in the near future.  He has worked in youth sports/recreation and with in the public school system in the past .  His first sport was football where he was a collegiate athlete however, his dedication is proper mechanics, fitness and nutrition and the athletes overall success. 

Ron specializes in Javelin and have coached State, Regional and National USATF Champions in the event.

13yrs & Older / Throws

Smith, Victoria

Coach Vickie has a background in horizontal jumps where she had both HS success and collegiate success setting both HS and collegiate school records.  Vickie is multi-talented athlete who managed to set top performance in college both on the track in sprints and in the field in the long jump.  She was recently inducted to Hall of Fame at her Alma Matta.


She returns to us after relocating back to the Triangle and is having an immediate impact on her young athletes.

Horizontal Jumps

Williams, Chrishawn

Chrishawn has returned to the Eagles as part of our coaching staff after a superb High School and Collegiate Track and Field career.   She began her track and field at the early age of seven and never looked back.  Her natural leaping ability made her a fantastic candidate for horizontal jumping where she often jokes to the current athletes that she was doing plyo boxes at the age of eight.


In 2013 she was named Indoor All-America in the long jump and received back-to-back All-ACC honors in the long jump at the indoor conference championship and outdoor championships.  She placed eighth at the NCAA Indoor National Championships to earn All-America honors.


Chrishawn has volunteered at Southeast Raleigh HS her HS alma matta  as well and brings new and innovative coaching techniques to our athletes.
